展覧会 「エチオピア・ウォリソの人々の絵〜描くこと、作ることから出会う〜」
エチオピア・ウォリソの牛耕農村では、裸足で働く人々の足を守るため、研究者の田中利和が現地職人と「エチオピア産地下足袋」の開発・普及に取り組んでいます。アーティストの是恒さくらもこの活動に加わり現地を訪れ、農村の人々と絵を描き展示する活動を行いました。本企画では、ウォリソの青少年が描いた家畜や家屋などの作品を紹介します。

Exhibition: Drawings by the People of Woliso, Ethiopia
Encountering Through Drawing and Making
In a cattle-farming community in Woliso, Ethiopia, researcher Toshikazu Tanaka has been working with local craftspeople to develop and promote Ethiopian-made jikatabi (traditional split-toe work shoes) to help protect the feet of people who work barefoot in the fields.
Artist Sakura Koretsune joined this project and visited Woliso, where she organized drawing and exhibition activities with local residents. This exhibition presents artworks by young people from Woliso, featuring scenes from their daily lives, including livestock, homes, and their surrounding environment.

“Drawings by the People of Woliso, Ethiopia: Encountering Through Drawing and Making”
Join artist Sakura Koretsune and Ethiopian studies researcher Toshikazu Tanaka (Associate Professor, The Graduate School of Project Design) for a conversation about the research and creative processes behind this exhibition.
The event also includes a mini workshop introducing participants to Ethiopia.
