Refugee Week は、難民や避難を求める人々の貢献や創造性を祝う、世界最大の芸術・文化のお祭りです。
1998年にロンドン（イギリス）ではじまり、毎年6月20日の「World RefugeeDay（世界難民デー）」に合わせて行われます。
移民や難民をルーツに持つ人々が現在の国に辿り着いた経緯や歴史、またオリジナルの文化を尊重し、アートや演劇、映像などの文化を通じてお祝いすることを目的としています。
Refugee Week中に行われるイベントは、小規模なものから大規模なものまで、さまざまなものがあり、慈善団体や図書館、美術館、学校など、多様な組織やグループが参加します。
アートイベントやキャンペーンを通じて、異なる背景を持つ人々を結びつけ、移民問題という国際的な課題への理解を深めることを目指しています。
Refugee Week is the world’s largest arts and cultural festival celebrating the contributions and creativity of refugees and people seeking asylum.
It began in London, United Kingdom, in 1998 and is held each year to coincide with World Refugee Day on June 20.
Its purpose is to honor the journeys and histories of people with migrant and refugee backgrounds, as well as their original cultures, and to celebrate them through artistic and cultural expressions such as art, theater, and film.
Events held during Refugee Week range from small-scale to large-scale, with a wide variety of organizations and groups—such as charities, libraries, museums, and schools—taking part.
Through art events and campaigns, it aims to connect people from diverse backgrounds and deepen understanding of the global issue of migration.
